This is my finished card for the Inspiration Challenge using the inspiration piece below. My card is 5.5 inches square. This card has many layers, to show off the Starfish and stencilled background. For the embossed background, the pattern covered 2 sides of the folder, so I turned the paper to cover all 4 sides with the embossing. I coloured the starfish using Viva Decor Inka Gold Platinum, then styled and attached on foam dots. I added the pearls from Faith around it and part of a Frantic Stamper sentiment in the darker card stock. I shadowed the sentiment with another sentiment in white card stock, then added acrylic glaze to give the sheen finish. Hope you like - thanks for looking.
This is my inspiraton for the challenge today at Splitcoast we visited a Pinterest Board all about placemats. I picked the above inspiration photo for my card. I admit, I picked it more for the dishes than the napkin - but that is what makes it fun.
In planning my card I got together what I was going to use. The stencilling I did using the Silks. I use the lid to load my sponge, then tap off on a acrylic block so as to not get blobs, and the ink stays fresh on the block so I continue on with my stencilling using and applying to that ink. The Viva Inka-Gold is a very thick paste. Today I used it by loading on my finger and burnishing it onto my starfish. I love the look, and it adds incredible durability to the paper - which is watercolour paper in this case. I have also added water to the Viva ink and painted on the colour using brushes, a beautiful look. The pearls were sent to me by my friend Faith in British Columbia, and you will see how fitting they are on my finished card. At this point I had not decided on my sentiment.
