Anenome Hello

 My card, Anemone Hello, for the colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. The recipe and how I did the card is below - hope you like it. I was the Colour Challenge Favourite at Splitcoaststampers for this card. Always such a treat to be honoured.

This is my recipe for Anemone Hello. The colours for the challenge included plum, but I am not at all fond of plum at this time of year, so I used violet instead. I will save the plum for the fall. I coloured only the flower of the stamp and spritzed with water. I stamped around the card and for some of the flowers I also stamped off, until I was happy with the look. I added the green ink to my acrylic block and with a wet paint brush I added the green, and did the same with the blue - which is in the flower centre's. I then added my all time favorite embellishment, sequins in the blue and also some of the mini cupped ones and a gem on the "h" of the hello sentiment. The sentiment is Simon Says which I cut in black card stock, and the border cut on the card is done with the larger of the Die-Namics Bracket Edge.

This is the colour chart from the challenge today. Stampin Up colours are used for the challenge, but you can use what you have that matches the colours. I do not use Stampin' Up products. For my ink I use either Marvy/Memento Markers or Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I use eyeliner sponges to sponge on colours - I get them at the Dollar Stores, and for larger areas I use the make up edges, which I also get at the Dollar Store. I like to have sponges that feel comfortable in my hands and I find these work beautifully. I also buy my paint brushes at the Dollar Stores. I have a tendency to forget that I have the paint brush still in the water .... needless to say, they do not last long that way. I suppose if I were Picaso I would use good brushes ... I am never going to be Picaso!! In order to match my colours to the Stampin Up colours I use ColorPix - you can download it here.  ColorPix gives the you the RGB/HEX/HSB/CMYK codes, which I then match to my Tim Holtz or marker colours.
