I forgot that I had this butterfly stencil from Art Neko, called Birthday Butterfly, so when I saw it the other day I brought it out to use on a card. I used the positive part of the stencil, which has a translucent quality to it and a beautiful sheen. There is still the negative part of the stencil for another use. First I masked the edges of my watercolour paper with masking tape and sprinkled with Bister crystals in blues, greens and yellows before spritzing with water to activate the crystals. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process, then matted with a dark blue/teal cardstock before attaching to my base. As I am in need of birthday cards, I die cut the birthday sentiment in metallic gold cardstock then added a few of my signature sequins to finish.
