It is time for another hop, and I am delighted to be sharing with all of you a collaboration between My Sweet Petunia and Unity Stamps.
I will have more information on the hop and the prizes below, but first I would like to share the
For today's hop I used the Unity Stamp Happy Snail Mail Sentiment Kit for May 2017. The set is full of 17 fun sentiments, a heart, and this wonderfully fun snail atop a mushroom. Who can resist, which is why I did 2 cards.
I wanted to use this frame in my design, so I laid it out in my Misti for placement. To prepare I removed the foam padding, as the stamps are red rubber stamps mounted on foam.
I arranged my stamp inside the frame and picked it up with my Misti door. I stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed using gold embossing powder.
I find it easier to paint inside my Misti as I use the creative corners to hold down my watercolour paper. For a bigger piece I would also add a couple of the magnets. I proceeded to watercolour using Zig brushes and Daniel Smith Watercolours.
I fussy cut the snail and mushroom once I finished painting it, keeping a bit of the grass. I then die cut the matting pieces and heat embossed the image on the designer paper, also in gold and attached the pieces to my card base. I attached the frame, then styled the mushroom and attached within the frame on foam strips.
To finish, I stamped the sentiment and die cut a banner, attaching it to the bottom of my card. I added Wink of Stella to the circles on the mushroom, as well as to the snail, and finished with a few sequins and crystals.
A close up of the snail and mushroom showing
the sparkle.
For my second card, I stamped the image on watercolour paper and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, and painted with Zig brushes and Daniel Smith Watercolours. I did the watercolour background and splatted it with a darker blue and white acrylic paint, then die cut the piece with a stitched rectangle die. I added designer paper to my card base and attached foam strips to the back of my panel before attaching to my card, and finished with my trademark sequins.
More sparkle and an up close of the snail.
Thank you for joining the hop today, and I hope you
have enjoyed my process to make these cards.
