One of the best things about summer for me are the birds and butterflies, both in nature, and in my cards. Today I would like to share with you these butterflies, and a wonderful sentiment, both from Art Neko Galleries.
To start my card I die cut watercolour paper using my stitched rectangle die, one of my favourite dies to use on this kind of card. I then sponged on distress ink and spritzed with water, letting the water move around the paper to fill in. Once dry, I prepared the paper for heat embossing and stamped the large butterfly using distress ink in picked raspberry, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then stamped the smaller butterfly in ripe persimmon and heat embossed again using the clear embossing powder. On the larger butterfly I sponged lightly across the butterfly wings with spun sugar ink, then added Wink of Stella to both butterflies. I then puddled some water in my palm and splattered it around my card and after a bit used paper towel to dry it up, leaving the beautiful water marks. In my Misti I stamped the sentiment several times to get a good impression using in intense black ink. I mounted my panel on fun foam and attached to the card base, then for a bit more sparkle I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops. Here is a close-up showing the sparkle.
I hope you enjoy this card today and thank you for visiting my blog.
