I was looking forward to painting this new to me stamp from Altenew called Magnolias for Her. When I lived in British Columbia I had a beautiful Magnolia Tree on my front lawn, and very much enjoyed the blooms every spring. My tree was in the pinks, so I decided to do this card using the pink shades. For the flowers, in my Misti, I arranged all the flowers and leaves, stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I then stamped the leaves again in case I needed more for my card. The painting I did in several layers using Daniel Smith Rhodonite Genuine and Hooker's Green for the leaves. Once they were finished and dry, I fussy cut the flowers and leaves as I wanted the cut right on the embossed line.
For the panel behind my flowers I decided to die cut the media die and use it as a stencil, sponging on Tim Holtz Distress ink in Worn Lipstick on a die cut Die-Namics die called In and Out Diagonal Stitch by My Favorite Things. I attached the panel to fun foam and then to my card base using double sided tape.
I styled my flowers just a bit before arranging a attaching to the panel using foam dots for some and matte glue for others.
When I want to paint a flower such as this Magnolia, I find a picture via google and keep it up on my tablet for reference while I paint.
