Just saying

I have had this Heidi Swapp stencil for some time and have never played with it before now. I thought I would just mess around with some inks and see what happens.
For the top card, on ranger distress watercolour paper and using distress oxide inks I covered the stencil, then spritzed it and my paper with water before laying the paper face down on the stencil. I rubbed the paper ensuring that the stencil and paper kissed completely before removing the paper, then set it aside to dry. I then stamped the hello sentiment using Altenew Ruby Red, heat embossed and die cut it, with another cut in fun foam, gluing them together to add dimension to my card. I die cut the dried panel with my stitched rectangle die, then went around the flower petals with clear Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle. I then attached my stenciled panel to the card base, and stamped the "just saying", which is heat embossed with black embossing powder, then gluing in place the "hello" die cut.
It is always difficult to get a photo with the sparkle showing, so I propped my card up in the sun to take this to show you.

When I mess around with stencils I always use my original Misti with saran (plastic wrap) laid down for easy clean up. This way I don't have to worry about taping anything, the magnets do the work. Below is the same stencil with my watercolour piece ready for me to paint with Daniel Smith water colours. This is so easy to do, and makes for a great card to have ready quickly. I did not use a lot of water as I did not want it seeping under the stencil, and I pounced my brush on its side to apply the paint.
This is the finished card with those gorgeous colours. I die cut the completed panel with my stitched rectangle die, then attached it to my card base on fun foam.
I stamped the "you are" using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, and the awesome is stamped using Altenew's Autumn Blaze ink, then heat embossed with the Nuvo Glitter embossing powder, die cut and glued to the card. I did not add anything further as I did not want to detract from the stencil and the colours.
I hope you enjoy both of these cards, and thank you for visiting my blog.
