Playing along over at Your Next Stamp today with this monochromatic card using the cute as can be Happy Bird-day Stamp and Die Sets.
I cannot recall if I have ever done a monochromatic card with colour. The closest I have come is using all white, so this was a bit of a challenge for me.
I decided my best bet was to pick some designer paper in a colour I liked and the rest would follow. 😉
I die cut panels for both the front and inside of my card, using 4 different patterns. I then stamped the birds using Ranger Archival Paradise Teal ink on Ranger Distress Watercolour Paper. I used Schmencke Cobalt Turquoise to paint the birds and once finished added Wink of Stella. I stamped the birds music notes with the Paradise Teal, giving it several passes to get that dark colour. I also added Wink of Stella to it. I attached the birds using foam dots, stamped the inside sentiment which is from Life's A Hoot stamp set, and added another bird inside.

ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card! I love the layering and the different color patterns that you used! And your coloring of the birds is fantastic! It kind of all reminds me of a patchwork quilt!
