Now, on to the projects I made for today's hop. First up is Thankful, done using Concord & 9th Lace Leaf Stamp Set. I stamped my background panel using Ranger's Wendy Vecchi line of inks picking the colours of fall. I then die cut the panel with the Scalloped Stitch Trimmings die using the inside part without the trim, then attached it to my Bazzill pink card base.
I cut a piece of white vellum using a smaller die from the set, then stamped the sentiment using the Vermilion ink from the ink sets, and heat embossed with the clear embossing powder. I then attached the vellum to my card base using vellum tape.

For my leaf, I made a mixture of Ballerina Pink and Shimmering Pearl embossing powders, adding a few shimmer pieces to the mix. I stamped with the Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed. I then added some of the Vermilion ink shading around the edges of the leaf, and finished with a few drops of Nuvo Jewel drops.

For my next project I used the My Favorite Things Cross-Stitch Tag to make this Autumn Tree tag.
I used colours that I already had in my stash, picking out shades of green, blue, rust, orange, red, gold and brown. I used all 6 strands of the floss, as this is a large stitch grid.
I added thin foam squares under the finished area to elevate the top panel and matted with the orange bazzill cardstock. I then made the tassel from variegated floss.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects. Up next is the amazing Amy. If you have lost your way, following is a list of those in the hop and their links.

  9. Beautiful fall color background with the gorgeous, heat-embossed leaf, Kia! I love the way you heat-embossed the leaf with mixed embossing powders. It beautifully shimmers. Using the vellum piece as a backdrop is a great idea.
The cross-stitched tree tag is so lovely. The orange peeking through the tiny holes is pretty!

  10. I love how the vellum sets off your shimmery leaf from the more colourful background. The cross-stitch tree tag combines two of my favourite crafts and is a reminder to incorporate more cross-stitching on my cards.

  11. I like the card with the vellum panel. I used to be an avid cross-stitcher until papercrafts took over. That tag is sweet.
