Hello all. I am back with you today to share this card, which I made for Scrap'n Stamp Canada.
As most of you know, I love birds, so when I get a chance to paint up some birds, I jump in. This cute set called Tweet Holidays from My Favorite Things is the perfect addition to my Holiday Stamp collection.
I wanted a different kind of background for my birds, so opted to heat emboss using a stencil. I first die cut my watercolour paper panel, then used a Tim Holtz stencil called Pines for my background, but any stencil can be used for this. I laid the stencil on an angle and dragged Versamark ink across and down the stencil, ensuring I did not cover the entire stencil. I then heat embossed using white embossing powder.
I then painted in layers using Ken Oliver Color Burst in Turquoise, Phalo Green and Chartreuse. Once dry I made a mixture using white Perfect Pearls which I watered down, giving a transparent appearance and painted it over my card panel.
I then stamped my images using Ranger Sepia ink and water coloured using Zig Clean Color Brushes. Once I finished the painting I added white acrylic paint to the hats to add more texture, and once the acrylic paint was dry I added Clear Wink of Stella. I then stamped the sentiment using Ranger Library Green, then attached the panel to fun foam using Be Creative Tape. I attached the panel to a light blue card base, then arranged the images for placement, attaching with glue and foam squares.
For the inside of my card I again used the same stencil and brushed on the colours using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles and again die cut the panel using my Wonky Rectangle die. I stamped the sentiment which is from the Handwritten Holidays set, using Library Green ink. I think it is the perfect sentiment for this card.
I hope you have enjoyed this card and would like to thank you for visiting my blog.
