Watercolour Squares Thank you

For this week's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoaststampers we are to think "squares". I decided to do some watercolour squares in a loose style for a fun and colourful thank you card.
I die cut my panel first, using Ranger Distress Watecolour paper, so I knew the size I would be working with. I used various colours of Daniel Smith, Winsor Newton and Schmincke watercolours. I knew I wanted a lot of white space, so I kept the squares on the smaller size, albeit you can see as I proceeded down the paper I went more rectangle. No need to worry, it still looks good I think.
The key I think is to make your square with water first, then add your colours in.  I did not tape my piece down as I was picking it up and turning it to all sides to let the paints flow. Once the panel was dry, I attached it to my card lining up with the left side, then added a think stripe down the right side which I had painted with clear Wink of Stella. I put the card in my Misti and stamped the sentiment from Altenew's A Beautiful Day stamp set, using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. It took several stampings to get a good impression, thanks to Misti. I finished with a few gumdrops.
As this card is going to a man, I finished the inside, again using the Wonky Rectangle die, but changed it up finishing in blues, and adding two side panels, that I also painted with Wink of Stella. The dial stamp and die worked perfectly for this card I think ... stamped using Ranger Archival Manganese Blue.

This card is for the maintenance man in my building who dropped everything and came to my rescue when I was overburdened with groceries. He took everything up to my apartment for me, which was a life saver.

Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you have enjoyed this easy to do card.
