I am playing with alcohol today, not the drinking kind, the craft kind! An alcohol background along with Copic coloured flowers for a Happy Birthday card for a friend.
In the background I have oranges, greens, even turquoise. For the flowers I have yellows, oranges and red. Once the background was dry I cut part of the piece into strips, then mixed them up before gluing down on the diagonal.
I stamped and cut out the flowers, then coloured with Copics. I am new to Copic colouring, and I know there are all kinds of videos about how to colour with them, but I find I am best to colour how I am comfortable. I don't like the look of a well blended piece because that is not my style. I think everyone should go with your heart and your style and make it your Art.
I finished the piece by adding the sentiment on an angle. I am happy with the look and I have another piece of alcohol background that I will do in different colours. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession, but I note it is not available presently.
It is for reference purposes this stamp set called Birthday Wishes CL39.
I have listed the products that I have used for both US and Canadian sites, at no extra cost to you.
Thank you for joining me today.
Kia, I had to come to your blog for more details on your stunning card! You did a remarkable job of creating with the alcohol inks. I love the beautiful strips of paper and great flowers! Great work, Kia!
ReplyDeleteI would never, in a million years, have thought of cutting up an alcohol inked paper and then cut & lay it on the diagonal! Your flowers turned out great too. This card is just delightful 💕
