Monogram K

I am up on the My Sweet Petunia Blog with this card today. I have wanted to do this kind of card for awhile, but kept putting if off as it does require exact measurements and I did not have a proper ruler for that. Alas, the new Cut-Align has changed all that.
Using my new ruler I measured out a K block monogram that I proceeded to stamp in using floral and leaf stamps from various stamp sets in different colours of distress inks.
I did the same for the sentiment die cut inside, which is shown below.
Above is my block K with all the measurements. I will keep this for future use. You can see the Cut-Align with all the wonderful measurements in increments of 1/16th and the Omnigrid ruler I previously used. They are both heavy duty rulers, but the Omnigrid is a sewing ruler, measuring in increments of 1/8th inches. It is also thick, used to butt the edge of a rotary cutter, but it also used to cause me to miss the measure! The Cut-Align is perfectly made for the kind of measuring I was doing.
I traced the monogram to masking paper using graphite and cut it out with my cutter, which is supposed to be used for fabric. I have a proper craft knife ordered, trust me as one of the pictures does show my cut finger from the knife.
In my Mini Misti I arranged the miscellaneous stamps to fill the block letter and stamped using various colours of inks.
I die cut the sentiment for the inside and stamped it the same way with the same stamps in different colours.
Once I was done the stamping I brushed on the Picked Raspberry ink. On my inside die cut panel, I aligned up the edges of the panel and taped the ruler to the page, using it as a guide to glue down the sentiment.
To finish the monogram I added colour with my distress markers to the area with just one colour of ink.
This is the finished monogram. I very much enjoyed making this card today, and I hope you enjoy it as well.
