Peony Hugs is my card today.
This Foiled Impression die from Picket Fence is beautiful when it is foiled. I did not have a sense of how it would look until I ran it through my machine and coloured it. I don't look at other cards until I have made my first card with a new product as I always feel it will sway my thinking.
Starting with the foiling I did the flower using red foil, Gemini Foil Press and Gemini Jr. After I finished the foiling I ran the flower through my Gemini Jr. and die cut the flower with the matching die.
For my colour I used Copic Markers in RV11, 13, 14; R27; R46. For the most part I kept the Copic colour off the foil, which was my intent.
With a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and Ranger's Textured Opaque Matte embossing paste I added paste to parts of my card front. I removed the stencil once completed and washed it straight away. As I did that the card was drying somewhat.
I then added Nuvo Aqua Flow colour in Lemon Zest to parts of the stencil paste. By the time I finished the paste was dry. Adding a large foam square to the back of the flower I attached it to the card.
Using Impression Obsession's Hugs Die, I die cut a white sentiment, then coloured it with Nuvo Shimmering Pen in Midas Touch, and glued it to the flower.
To finish my card I added some gems from Studio Katia in the colours that I used on the card.
