Bold Red Lilies.
Like you all, I too find it a lonely time in our lives. I am lucky in that I have always had hobbies, which keep me busy, and at times like this I say thank goodness for my cards.
To amuse myself even further I decided to take a step outside my comfort zone by doing these red lilies. I searched for the different types of Lilies and found these Asiatic Liles, called Queen of the Night.
To stamp my images I first stamped with Ink on 3 Atelier Ink in Marilyn Munroe doing three passes. I then added Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black with one pass. This kept the outline images of my images in the red while still allowing me to use Copic markers.
To colour I used R22, R24 and R27. As I have mentioned before I start with the lightest move to the darkest then go back down to the lightest. Once finishing with those colours I added R59 to the centre, and blended out with R27.
For the leaves I used two colours, being YG03 and YG17. For the buds I used YG03 with R22 and R24, then added a bit of YG17.
For my background I wanted to use red cardstock, but I did not want just cardstock. So using my stencil Leaf Lattice I embossed the cardstock by running it through my Gemini Jr. with the embossing mat with the stencil on the backside of the cardstock.
I then spritzed the piece with Perfect Pearls to add some sparkle and added Nuvo Glitter Gloss to the flowers and stamens.
To put it all together I trimmed the bottom of the red cardstock with Silver Satin Mirror cardstock, then attached it to my card base about 1/2 inch from the top. In my Misti I arranged my flowers, then stamped my sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.
I styled the flowers and attached one with Nuvo Adhesive and the other two with foam squares of varying heights, then finished with a few sequins and gems.
To be sure, making this card was a trip to the unknown for me. However, I was totally immersed, for which I was thankful for. But I did wonder, does it look like a Christmas card?
