When I have stamps out I tend to stamp a few images and set them aside to colour when I am watching TV in the evening. That is what I did with this Songbird from Concord & 9th.
Stamped the bird using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil and water coloured using my Nuvo Aqua Brush in Soft Rose mixed with Apple Red (Spring Meadow Set and Summer Holiday Set, along with Rustic Oak for the branches. (Autumn Woodland Set).
Once I finished the water colouring I ran the bird through my Scan'n Cut as I do not have a dies set for this, and set aside.
The background is done with Ken Oliver Color Burst in Lemon Yellow, Chartruese and Fuchsia using Arches Cold Press watercolour paper along with A Colorful Life Design Stencil called Little Feathers.
I roll up tape and apply it to the back of the paper to keep it from puffing up, then place the stencil over the paper where I want and secure it long the edges of the stencil to keep it flat. I spritz with water, then sprinkle the powders and add more water until I am happy with the look, and remove the stencil as soon as possible.
I let the piece dry then die cut using Penny Black's Antique Frame Die set. Again using the Ranger Ink Potting Soil I sponged the colour around the edges, then splattered with Nuvo Aqua Flow Pen in Baked Cherry (Festive Season Set), then attached fun foam to the back.
Splattered the card base with the Baked Cherry and attached the panel in the centre. Styled the bird and attached using foam squares, then stamped the sentiment which is from the Flying By Stamp Set by Penny Black.
