I am hosting the Inspiration Challenge today and this is my card for the challenge.
Being a Canadian I picked a Canadian Pinterest site for the challenge. This shop is located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The store is called The Cross Design, as is the Pinterest Site.
For my card I picked this notebook for inspiration.
I am using Arches 140lb watercolour paper, Neenah Kraft cardstock and fun foam for depth.
As I love bright colours, that is where I went with my colours, which are Daniel Smith watercolours. I also enjoy abstract art very much, so this fits in with my love of playing with watercolour.
For interest and texture I dropped water on a partially dry piece, and allowed the paints to bleed. This is recommended by Debby Hughes, whom I so admire for her work.
I allowed the piece to dry naturally as I find it stays flat much better by doing so. Once dry I splatter with Nuvo Shimmering Midas Touch. I die cut the Pinkfresh Studio die using watercolour paper and painted it with the Midas Touch Pen as well.
To finish up I added fun foam to the back and attached to a Neenah kraft cardbase. I then attached the Pearls and added the branch using foam squares cut to fit.
Whenever I can play with watercolour I have a good time, and this card was a lot of fun to make. I hope you too have enjoyed this.
