Changing Colours

I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today where we were taken to visit Reshot, which is a free image resource. For my inspiration I picked this photo.

It is one of those days when it is almost impossible to capture a good photo. There is a haze in the sky which in turns shows through in my photos.

Using my original Misti I stamped using Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple and Ripe Persimmon. I stamped off moving my cardstock to another position then spritzing the stamp with water before stamping, which I did not do for the first stamp.

Once I was finished with the stamping I picked the best parts and die cut using my stitched rectangle die. I then die cut another piece of cardstock using my stitched stackers die, and glued the pieces together, the adhered to my card base.

I wanted to step it up a notch so I die cut the leafy branch die and cut off the leaves on one side. I then added Midas Touch Shimmering Pen to the leaf outline.

I wanted it to be somewhat tucked in behind the leaves, but still easy to read, so I placed the card in my Misti and put the leaf die where it would go before deciding where to stamp my sentiment. I then stamped using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.

I finished up by adding some Nuvo Drops around the card in mustard, orange and red.

I really like how it turned out and hope you do as well.
