Kitten Christmas

When I saw this new line of stamps from Colorado Craft Company I was squealing with delight. They are all so beautiful it is hard to pick what I wanted. Alas, we are heading into Christmas, and this set is too cute to not get.

I am also hosting the Inspiration Challenge today at Splitcoaststampers. I picked a site called Beijos, and in viewing their blog I came upon this Christmas Tree, which was perfect for what I wanted to do.

I stamped the image using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone, then heat set the ink so it would not smear from the Copics. The fun thing with this image is I didn't have to do any blending per say. A bit with the blue in the centre, and a bit with the kitten, but that was it, so the colouring goes quickly.

I started with the tree bucket, using green red and yellows in G14, R27 and Y18. I then moved on to the tree trunk and branches using E23 and E37. Next was the kitten using YR04 along with E57. On the Angel I used B12 and E50 and for the mouse I used E51 and E23.

The balance of colours listed below were all used on the ornaments and presents and the grays were used to anchor the image. To all of the ornaments and the Angel I added Nuvo Shimmering Pen in Midas Touch.

Once I was done with the colouring I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Green Oasis. I then die cut the panel using my Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles dies and attached the panel to a Gina K Design Fresh Asparagus card base.

To finish up I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Woodland Green Gloss.

I had such a good time making this card using this fun image. I hope you have enjoyed it as well, and I thank you for your visit.
