It is time for Watercolour Wednesday over at Splitcoaststampers. I am hosting this week's challenge and have picked Slimline Easy Fall Watercolour Painting for the challenge. I really like the layout and the wispy background of this, so I did not make any changes to the design, just the colours a bit.
This is a relatively easy painting to do. I did not draw any lines, it was easier to just go with the flow. I used Jane's Gray and Burnt Umber in the first layer. On the foreground trees I used Burnt Umber and Indian Red is in there as well, then added in Sepia towards the end, making the marks on the main tree. I also did the branches with the Sepia. The Indian Red doesn't show up in the picture like it does IRL.
I then moved on to doing the leaves. Using my #6 brush I added colours using Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue mixed with Indian Yellow, Pyrrol Orange and Perylene Scarlet randomly adding the colours as I went along.
On some of the leaves I dropped in a different colour to the first colour. Once done with the leaves, in my original Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Pinecone. I thought the sentiment was perfect for this kind of card.
I then attached the panel to a Gina K Design Cherry Red cardbase.
This was a lot of fun to do and I hope some will give it a try.
