Its Snowing

This card does make me Snow Happy! The inspiration for this card came from the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers which is today at Plaid Crafts. For my inspiration I picked these ornaments.

I am using an older Penny Black die called Stitch a Snowflake. It is fairly large and I admit I would not buy snowflakes smaller than this. The larger the better in my humble opinion.

My background is what I did first using heavy cardstock die cut with my Lawn Fawn Stitched die and distress oxide inks I pounced my paper into the inks that had been spritzed with water. After each addition of colour I dried the panel with my heat gun. Once done with the colours I added a palette knife full of Moon Dust Stickle Glitter Gel dragging it across the card panel then set it aside to dry.

I die cut the snowflake using Arches cold press watercolour paper then painted it using Roman Szmal watercolours in Quinacridone Gold, Nickel Azo Yellow, Quinacridone Pink and Blue Sky, drying between each addition so as to not get mud. Once all the colour was added I added a heavy layer of Midas Touch Shimmering Pen to the snowflake.

When all was ready I added fun foam to the background panel using Be Creative or Scor-pal tape and affixed it to my card base. I attached the snowflake with a large foam square, then stamped and heat embossed a partial sentiment from the Colorado Craft Company set, adding with foam squares.

To finish up I added Nuvo Jewel Drops in Sea Breeze.

Thanks so much for your visit.
