I am very much into using the "old" with the "new" these days, and this card is another example of that. The background stamp is old, but the JOY die and Santa Hat are new. When I saw the Santa Hat at Impression Obsession it was a must have as I wanted to make this card.

I really like the background stamp with the flourish and the snowflakes. In my original Misti I stamped on Neenah Solar Crest cardstock using VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip Red, then added VersaMark embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder for added texture.

Using the same cardstock I die cut the JOY sentiment and applied Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen in Midas Touch, doing a couple of layers. Once dry I went around all the edges with Copic marker R46.

For the Santa Hat using the same cardstock I die cut the pieces and coloured the hat top using Copic Markers in R24, R27 and R46.

I styled the hat and fur then glued together using Nuvo Adhesive.

I think the hardest part was deciding where I wanted the JOY die placed. I decided I did not want to hide the snowflake in the middle of the card totally, so I would go slightly above it. I used my Misti ruler to keep the word straight and attached with foam squares.

I left the foam square off the top of the J letter so I could tuck the Santa Hat underneath it. I also took into account that as the hat was styled I would not need a foam square, so I glued that section with Nuvo glue. I hugged the O with the rest of the Santa hat attaching on the right side with a foam square.

I then placed the card in my mini Misti and stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. I added a few gems in the gold to finish my card.

The picture above shows the sparkle better. It looks like I missed areas, but I did not, it is the way the light is hitting my card.
