I am back today to share this card that I have done for the Scrap'n Stamp Random Acts of Cardness challenges. Today is day 11, which is Christmas.
Earlier last week I did some plaid backgrounds, and this is one of those. On Gina K Designs Blue Raspberry cardstock I used a striped stencil along with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink, doing one way, then turning the stencil and doing the other to get the diamond shape.
To being this card I stamped the bells using Memento Ink on Hammermill card stock, which I love using with Copic Markers.
I started with the ribbon using Copics B12, B06 and B16. As I have mentioned previously I start with one colour, on to the next, then the last and then I go back down, using the midtone colour and finally the lightest colour. For the inside of the ribbon I used the B12 only.
Moving on to the Ivy I used YG03, YG17 and YG63, going back down with the colours. On the berries I used R17, R27 and R46 and back again leaving just a tad of white.
On the bells I used neutral grays, N2 and N4. I also used a grayish Violet colour, BV25. I then went over some of the areas with the Copic Blender 0, which ages the bells. I also added some white gel pen.
I then added some Nuvo Shimmer Glitter Gloss to the berries and die cut the piece out. I added a piece of 40 pound vellum to the card front, then attached the bells using foam tape.
For the sentiment I die cut the Joy and rubbed it into VersaFine Clair Ink in Blue Belle until I got it nice and dark. I then heat set the ink so I would not end up with it on my fingers! I die cut the background from the same vellum, and using Nuvo Adhesive glued the two pieces together, then glued it to the vellum front.
I added a gumdrop to the hanger area giving the look that this is where it hangs from.
Initially I noticed once I photographed the cards that in thevellum tape was showing through. That piece was 29 pound, and I could not have tape showing, so I peeled the pieces off and cut another piece of vellum in 40 pound to cover the bottom piece and affixed it over top. I then added back the bells the sentiment.
It covered up the tape, and something I need to remember for the future.
I hope you have enjoyed this card, and wish to thank you for your visit.
