This poor doggie has no idea how long she will have to wait for her treats, lol. Such a cute image this is from Colorado Craft Company called Presents.
I wanted to do something a bit different for my background, so I used a stamp I had that I have no idea where it came from, but it reminds me of falling snow. It is 2 inches wide by 5 inches tall, so in my mini Misti I stamped it twice using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
I then die cut the stamped piece using my Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders dies. I used the straight cut side as I did not want the stitches to show.
To give the piece some dimension I inked the edges of the snow panel, allowing it to stand apart from the card base. I attached the die cut piece to my card base.
Using Arches cold press watercolour paper and my mini Misti I stamped the dog and presents using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, which is great ink for water colouring.
My little dog is suppose to resemble a Rottweiler as this card is for a friend who has three of these dogs. Black is a hard colour, whether it is used in watercolour or Copic markers. I instead used a dark gray along with a dark blue, and added the brown shade, which they have on their faces and sometimes their chest and legs. Autumn, the dog I am representing here. has the brown over her eyebrows too.
Once I was done with my painting I fussy cut the pieces, then styled them and propped them up on the card using foam squares. I then added the Nuvo Jewel drops around the card, the three bubbles above the dogs head are her "thinking" bubbles.
To finish it up I stamped the sentiment using my mini Misti and the Tumbled Glass distress ink. I did not really want the sentiment to pop, I wanted it instead to be a part of the card hence the same colour as the snow.
It is snowing here today, so not a good day for taking pictures, but I did my best.
