This is my card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers where we had a visit to Hot Chocolate Design. This is a shop with fabulously fun shoes. I picked these as my inspiration.
How fun are these? I used the beautiful colours from this pair, being the turquoise, pink, green and yellow.
I first stamped my image on Arches 140# Cold Press watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne. I proceeded to watercolour using Daniel Smith watercolours in Rose Madder and Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Genuine.
I let the piece dry naturally, then applied the grass using Daniel Smith Sap Green. I then added the stencil, painting with Daniel Smith Cadmium Light Yellow and the Rose Madder. To do this I made sure I did not have a wet brush, but I did have enough paint. There is a sweet point when doing this technique and once you get it, it will then come naturally to you.
I just love this image from The Rabbit Hole. Too cute for words. I stamped the sentiment je t'aime (meaning I love you) using the Nocturne Ink from VersaFine in the lower right.
To finish up I attached the piece to a dark pink card base.
I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Following are affiliate links for the products I used to make this card, at no extra cost to you.
