Happy Friday everyone.
I have been busy preparing cards, but you would not know it as they cannot be posted yet. But, this card can, my card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers which goes live tonight.
I am hosting the challenge and I picked another Canadian Pinterest site called The Happy Housie. I picked the following picture as it looks delicious. You can find the challenge here.
I realized when I was making this card it has been ages since I have used a stencil. I don't know why, but I changed that today.
Using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper I did the stencil background with A Colorful Life stencil and Distress Inks in various colours, which are listed below. I put down the colours, spritzed with water, then placed the stencil in the mixture before applying it to the paper. I put a piece of paper towel down, then a heavier item to allow the colour to set.
Once dry I die cut the circle from the design using a Penny Black die.
For the cupcake in my mini Misti I stamped using Memento Ink. Using Copics I started with the mint using BG11 and BG23. For the whip cream I used RV00, RV10 and RV13 then added bits of red representing strawberry with a Shaprie marker in dark pink. Moving on to the cupcake itself, I used E23 and E35, adding specks of chocolate with a Sharpie marker in dark brown. For the cupcake paper I used YR02, YR65 x 2, then added RV13 over the top. It makes such a pretty colour.
I then added Nuvo Shimmer Glitter Pen to the mint.
I fussy cut the cupcake which I did using Hammermill card, as it is a bright white and did not look good with the ivory I was using. To use behind the cupcake I die cut the circle from Bristol card using the Penny Black die.
I then put the card together, matting the Ivory card base with Aqua card. I then applied foam tape to the back of the stencil piece and attached it to the card. I glued in the die cut stencil circle, added the Bristol circle, then attached the cupcake using foam tape.
Finishing up I added a few gumdrops and stamped the sentiment from the Heffy Doodle set called Oh Crumbs using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone. I used the "Crumbs" part of the stamp, as that is all that would be left of this cupcake! lol
I hope you have enjoyed this card today. Following are Affiliate links for the products that I used for this card, at no extra cost to you. I thank you for your support.
