I have my happy face on as it is Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.
Our challenge this week is a beach scene. For those interested, you can find the related video here.
I watched the video on Sunday, but waited until earlier today to do my card. I probably should have painted my scene when it was still fresh in my brain, and not several days later. lol
For this card I am using Arches cold press 140lb watercolour paper and Daniel Smith water colours.
I used Daniel Smith watercolours to paint. Starting the sky with Ultramarine Blue, adding in a bit of Phthalo Green on the horizon, then adding in Amazonite Genuine. For the sand I used Yellow Ochre and for the grasses I started with one colour, but switched to Sap Green.
As always, there are things I would do differently the next time I do a beach scene. I do really like the blue green ocean though. I would have to say that the Amazonite Genuine is quickly becoming a favourite colour.
To finish the painting I added the birds using Jane's Grey.
I then attached foam tape to the back of the watercolour card and attached it to a blue card base.

So beautifully done, Kia! This reminds me of my Florida Keys vacation earlier this month. So peaceful.
