I actually bought this stamp a year ago and failed to use it. I annoy myself when I do stuff like that!
In any event, I am using it now. The image is by Penny Black and called Daffodil Devotion. I love the spring bulbs that come up year after year, and love the large display's in the gardens when I walk in the morning, with the Daffodil being my favourite.
To start this card I first die cut a piece of glossy advertisement card with my geometric die, which I used as a stencil for my background.
The reason I wanted the gloss heavy card is to make sure the paste would slide off properly and not attach itself to the card. It worked perfectly.
First, using the Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink and on Arches cold press card, I did some smooshing, letting the layers dry between each addition of colour.
Once the piece was dry, using my hand made stencil, I applied the crackle paste to select areas. It shows us better in real life and looks awesome. Once the card was dry I added splatters using the same ink.
I then stamped the image on watercolour card using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne and proceeded to watercolour. I kept the colours mostly true. I could not resist adding some orange to the outside of the Cup of the Daffodil and some Diopside Genuine to the leaves.
Once finished I ran the image through my Scan'n Cut, as there are not dies for this stamp.
I picked a light grey cardstock for my card base, matted with some turquoise and attached the mixed media piece to the matted card.
Using my stylist I styled the flowers and attached the image to the card using foam squares.
Finishing up I die cut the hey 3 times, and coloured one with Copic YR09. I then glued them together with the white on the bottom and the orange one on the top. I then added some Vintage drops in Teal.
Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you have enjoyed my card for today.
