Today I am up on the Scrap'n Stamp blog with this card as part of our Random Act of Cardness challenges. Today is day 24, which is Paper Piecing. I have done 3-D paper piecing, albeit it is hard to see the 3-D.
It has been awhile since I have done a 3-D card, so this was fun for a change. Mind you, bring your patience with you, as the tiny pieces can be a bit of a pain.
I first made my card base from Neenah 110lb. cardstock. Then using Hammermill 100lb. cardstock I stamped a slew of the images I wanted to use today. As an example, the balloon has 3 pieces, the bunny has 5 pieces and the little critter has 3.
Each piece is coloured using Copic markers, then fussy cut and styled using my Stylus set. In some places I used foam squares, in others just the styling and glue.
Using another piece of Hammermill cardstock I blended on the distress oxide inks for my background. I did not want to introduce another colour to my background, so I kept getting lighter as I moved toward the meeting spot.
Once the background was dry, I stamped the images where I wanted them to be, and attached the card piece to my card base.
I then added the pieces, building the animals up to their finish. Once I had everything attached I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone.
To finish off I added various sequins, doubling one with 2 sequins playing on the design.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card and wish to thank you for your visit.
