It is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers. This week I have used a stamp for my card, which is from Penny Black. Our challenge is called "Misted Watercolour" and the video for this technique can be found here.
Using Fabriano Hot Press water colour paper I stamped the flower image using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. Following the video instructions I misted the back and front of my card with clean water, then added the Pyrrol Scarlet, tipping the piece for movement. I then added the Jadeite Genuine and the Hansa Yellow, spraying lightly for more movement.
I was happy with the movement, so I set the piece aside to dry and once dry I added in highlights with watercolour, not pencil. I painted the stems with the Jadeite and once finished with the highlights I added some sparkle using a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water.
I then thought why not - and added splatters. Splatters add so much movement to watercolour flowers, and I love that.
Again using the Nocturne ink I stamped the sentiment which is from Altenew, which I think works perfectly with the flowers.
In looking at the image I wanted more sparkle, so I added splatters of Yellow Gold from the Gansai Tambi watercolour Starry set along with some White Gouache.
I attached the floral panel to a Fresh Asparagus card base from Gina K. Design to finish.
