Sea you

It is my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, and I have picked Maryann Rizzo.

Who is Maryanne Rizzo you ask? I did not know either, but the "2nd most popular account on Pinterest belongs to an interior decorator named Maryann Rizzo. She is followed by 9.6 million people, has posted 99,000 pins and keeps up nearly 300 boards, which feature bright colours and sparkles in equal doses". I can say I very much enjoyed my visit to her page and picked the following as my Inspiration piece.

I used several blues for my card, however you can see the hints of green hue in the blue colours.

To start I am using Arches cold press watercolour card, along with a Ivory card base. My watercolours are Daniel Smith. To start the water part I did a layer of Mayan Blue watercolour, changing the tones as I painted. Using my heat gun I dried the piece, then added in some Lunar Blue.

I dried the piece again, (lots of drying on this one) then painted in the Ultramarine Turquoise, dried and added Amazonite Genuine. When painting the water I did some squiggly lines, and some sweeps. Once all the colour was added and while still wet I added Perfect Pearls that I have made up mixed with water. 

I am laughing here, more drying time! 

Using my Kuretake Gansai Starry set I used the Yellow Gold and painted the gold lines over the water colour, connecting some of the lines creating movement in the water. Along the edge of the water I added White Gold replicating the foam from the Sea.

In my mini Misti, I prepped my paper, then stamped two of the fish from the Sea You stamp set on Arches paper using VersaMark embossing ink, then heat embossed with Brutus Monroe's Ultrafine Gold embossing powder. I painted each of the fish with the turquoise colours, and fussy cut them out.

I then placed the watercolour card in my mini Misti, prepped the piece and stamped with the watermark ink, then heat embossed again using the Brutus Monroe gold powder.

I added splatters in the white gold along with the yellow gold. Once dry I attached the watercolour piece to a Gina K Design Ivory card base. I then styled and attached the fish using foam squares.
