It was my friend's birthday and her favourite colour is green, so this year I did something different for her. She is all about the welfare of animals, should have been a Veterinarian in my opinion. So I always keep her cards about nature.
This year I mixed it up a bit and did some mixed media, Kia's style! By that I mean using watercolour. Using her favourite colour, with some blues and yellow thrown in this is what I came up with.
For the watercolour card I am using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour card. I used Daniel Smith watercolours in Hooker's Green, Hansa Yellow, Serpentine Green and Prussian Blue and Green Apatite Genuine. I painted horizontal lines as well as vertical lines in different widths.
Using the circle stamps (unknown Company) I put down watercolour on my work surface and pressed the stamp in the colours, then stamped them on the page. I did the same using stamps from the Visual Image Mesh-ellaneous stamp set. I also added a couple of circles using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
I die cut the Dragonfly from watercolour paper and the shadow from Vellum, painting the Dragonfly with the Hooker's Green and adding a heavy spray of Perfect Pearls mixed with water to add sparkle.
I then stamped the Make a Wish using the Blue Belle from VersaFine Clair and stamped the Celebrate in Nocturne.
To finish up I added foam tape to the back of the watercolour panel and affixed it to a Gina K Design Apple Mint card base. I added splatters of the Perfect Pearls mixture to the panel, then attached the Dragonfly using Lawn Fawn glue tube, along with a few gum drops.
I very much like this card, and I hope my friend liked it as well.
