Welcome to the Impression Obsession Theme Day.
We have set aside a day to share some fabulous new Impression Obsession projects. Have fun checking out what our Designers have made for today. The participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.
I have been thinking about this card for a long time now. Wondering how it would work out etc. I thought the Theme Day for Christmas would be the perfect time to try it out.
Using Neenah card I stenciled with a cloud stencil and Distress Oxide Inks in various colours, going from darkest at the top to lightest at the bottom.
I first die cut the reindeer then coloured the bits and pieces with Copic markers. For Rudolph I used a deep brown with a deep red, and dark brown for his antlers.
Once everything was cut and coloured I began to put the pieces together, using thin strips of foam tape behind the ears that would be used for attaching the deer to the card.
I wanted to use my smaller circle die, but it would have been too tight, so I used the next size up. This meant however that I could not get circles for the 8 reindeer plus Rudolph. So I squished two in without holes, one at the bottom left and the other at the top right and thought I would let you know they were on standby!
The panel was affixed to my card base using foam tape. I glued the circle dies to my base card as well, and the deer were attached with those thin foam strips behind the ears.
I used Copper Nuvo drops for the eyes and stamped the sentiment using embossing powder, then applied three of the ink colours I had previously used over each word of the sentiment and glued them to the card in the centre area.
To Rudolf's nose I added Midas Touch Shimmering Pen.
I can say I had a good time making this card, and I hope you enjoy it as well.

ReplyDeleteso brilliant ... clearly your card needs to be added to the samples on the website ... gives the die a whole new group of possibilities.
