This card is for Scrap'n Stamp and our Random Act of Cardness series. Today is day 18 and my prompt word is Winter.
We had a sudden dip in the temperatures where I am, and I was actually forced to turn on the heat. It is a rare event for me to have it on this early. But it is very fitting for my card today.
I have used this stamp only once before, where I used watercolour. I decided for this card it would be all about Distress Oxides and Copic markers.
Usually I would use Gouache for my snow, but I decided in keeping with Copics I would use my gelly roll pen for the snow. There is a lot of snow on this card, just ask my hand!
First I stamped the image using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then stamped only the deer and bunny again on masking paper and fussy cut the mask out applying it over my stamped deer. I then ran the card through my Gemini Jr using the Hemstitch die.
Using my brushes I applied the Prize Ribbon Oxide ink. I then blended in with Tumbled Glass Oxide ink going down to the land line. The snow below the land line was done with Copic markers in BG10 and BG11.
For the Deer I used E11, E23, E35, E37 and E49. The bunny is done using E40 and E41 with a bit of R81 on the cheek, snowball and ears. The tree is done using E35 and E37.
I added the white spots with my white gel pen, my thinking being this is a young deer fawn. For the tummy I used E40. I then moved down to the snow area, using the BG10 and BG11, then adding C3 for shadows.
To finish I applied the snow using my gelly roll pen then stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti using the VersaFine Clair ink.
I thank you for dropping by today. I hope you enjoyed today's card. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used on this card, at no extra cost to you.
