This is Flying by Wishes.
It appears I am in the mood for slimline cards of late. They are fun to make, and if you have not done so, give it a whirl, as I think you will enjoy it.
Using Hammermill cardstock and in my original Misti I stamped the ivy leaves using Memento ink as I am using Copics to colour today.
I know Ivy leaves are darker than what I have done, but I am not trying to be realistic to the letter here. Some people get caught up in the realistic thing, and I think this miss an opportunity in doing so.
To colour the bird I used G02, BG11 and YR02. The leaves are done using BG23, G09 and G19, and the berries have RV29 and R39.
I started with the lightest colour and ended with the lightest, in that I use the lightest and add the colours in to the darkest, then go over the entire leaf with the lightest again.
On the berries I left a little of the white for highlights.
For the bird I wanted "her" in the aqua colour ranges, and I wanted to keep her light also. I highlighted the breast area where I added Glitter Shimmer pen.
To finish up I went around the images with BG11 and stamped the sentiment using the Memento ink. I attached to a white card base and finished up with gems from Studio Katia.
My friend Joyce was over and she also made a card using the same stamps, so we had a nice afternoon making pretty in the craft room.
