It is time for Watercolour Wednesday and this week we are painting Ornaments. I watched the video to get an idea for my card.
As I am not fussed on darker colours I changed up the colours using instead Daniel Smith Phthalo Green, Phthalo Turquoise and Schmincke May Green.
I first die the background using the Phthalo Green in full strength in areas to give some depth.
Once my background was dry I moved on to the ornaments, first drawing a circle in pencil, then using Winsor Newton White Gouache to paint in the circle.
I added layers of the Phthalo Green to the ornament following the instructions.
I added a couple layers of the Phthalo Green to the Ornament and set aside the piece to dry.
As I waited I made my card base using Gina K Design card in Pinecone. I then die cut the Joy die (from Paper Rose) twice from white card stock and once using Silver Satin card.
I painted in the ornament cap and the string using Daniel Smith Lamp Black watercolour. Using the white Gouache I added another string going around the black string.
To finish up I glued on the Joy die, then glued the card panel to the card base using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I also added splatters using the Gouache along with the Phthalo Green.
Thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used to make this card today.
