It is Day 8 for our Random Act of Cardness series and today's prompt word is Trees.
I decided to use a die of trees that I recently received by Tim Holtz. Not normally a fan of Tim Holtz I was pleasantly surprised with his latest release, this set being one.
As the die itself is about 4.5 inches I made a card base of 5.25 x 5.25 from dark Navy cardstock.
To start my card I first did my background using distress oxide inks for the sky and acrylic paint for the snow portion.
As this is a winter scene I also added splatters of the acrylic white paint for a snowfall, then added Nuvo Crystal Drops to the snow portion for a bit of sparkle and set the piece aside to dry.
Moving on to the trees I die cut two sets from Neenah cardstock. For the set that would be on the bottom I coloured with Copic markers using G09, Veronese Green. For the top set of trees I sponged on distress inks using Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint and Rustic Wilderness.
I then splattered the acrylic paint over the finished trees to go with the background and waited for it to dry before attaching to my card.
Using foam squares that I cut to fit the back of the die cut trees I attached the trees to the card.
To finish up I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.
I like the way this card turned out, and hope you have enjoyed it as well. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra expense to you.
