This is Winter Wishes.
I have of course seen the Woodware Stamps before, but have never indulged myself with them until recently. They have such sweet designs, and are well made, so they have found a home here.
This stamp was one of the first I took a liking to. The shape of the trees, and the overall look is so cute for a Christmas card. I decided I would watercolour and add some heat embossing for a whimsical look.
On Arches cold press paper I stamped the trees using VersaMark embossing ink along with Nuvo Embossing Powder and heat embossed. I then added the colours, being Daniel Smith watercolour in Phthalo Turquoise and dropping in Schmincke watercolour in May Green.
I added the colours to the snow under the trees, along with white acrylic paint. I painted in the trunks for the trees using Daniel Smith Burnt Umber.
After adding more colour to the trees I added white acrylic splatters to the overall card along with splatters from the watercolours I used. I then added shimmer with a mix of white perfect pearls and water.
I set the piece aside to dry and in the mean time I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink, running the ink along the edges of the sentiment so I would not have to add extra cardstock for it to stand out.
Using Nuvo adhesive I attached the panel to my Gina K Design card base, then attached the the sentiment using foam squares.
I enjoyed making this card, and love the final results. Whimsical, just as I had envisioned.
I hope you have enjoyed this card as well, and thank you for visiting with me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
