It is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com. This week is hosted by Stacy and she has picked this video tutorial.
I have painted a scene very similar to the one shown for today, so I took my card in a bit of a different direction, creating a walking in the woods card.
I used a Birch tree stamp for my card and stamped on Arches cold press watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair ink.
To the trees I added Payne's Grey which was watered down to a lighter colour. I added the Payne's Grey to the land as well, then topped with Bleedproof white watercolour.
On the right side of each of the trees I painted with Schmincke Violet watercolour, going over these areas several times to deepen the colour.
I then added more snow, and allowed it to dry so I could paint in the footsteps, which was done using Winsor Newton Violet Dioxide.
Once everything was dry I then added splatters of the white paint for the falling snow.
After allowing the piece to dry, I applied foam tape to the back and adhered the piece to a purple card base.
I hope you have enjoyed this card today, and wish to thank you for visiting.
See you soon.
Gorgeous painting, Kia! I love the shadows and added footprints!
