Meet Winter Birthday.
I was asked to make a card for a February birthday for a lady who lives overseas. I had just ordered this stamp and very much wanted to use it, and was thankful I was given the time.
I did not want the sentiment and skate marks that are part of the stamp, so I masked that area off with a post it note before inking up, using Memento Ink.
I picked the paper first, which is from my stash, then coloured the image using Copic markers, keeping it simple. The skin is done using E50, E51 and E11. For the hat, sweater, scarf and skates I used G00 and G02. The hair is coloured using E57 and the gloves 100. And the skirt is done using YR01, YR02 and YR65.
I saw a similar layout on Pinterest, and decided this would work for me. I fussy cut the skater, which tested my patience! Alas, I think it was so worth the effort.
Using thin foam strips I attached the skater to the card base. I then added the pearls to the card die cut edge. Placing the card in my mini Misti I then stamped the birthday sentiment using Ranger Archival ink in Monarch Orange.
I also did the inside of the card, which I always do, including for my own cards. I normally do not share the inside of cards however, but this I thought would be enjoyed by all.
I used coordinating papers, and the same edger die for the inside, except used it on the opposite side of the card. The sentiment is stamped using the same Ranger ink on a Frantic Stamper label die.
Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card.
