This is Winter Wonderland.
It is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com. Angela is our hostess and she has us watching this video for our inspiration.
I decided to use my compact watercolour palette from Daniel Smith, using the Phthalo Blue (BS) and Ultramarine Blue for the sky.
For the horizon line I used the Quinacridone Rose. From my larger palette I pulled in Manganese Blue for the snow hills and Opera Pink for the horizon line.
Once all was dry I did the trees using the top of a stamp. Those small trees would end up being a scribble for me! I used VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne to do the trees.
I then added white watercolour to the hills along with the Manganese Blue. Using white Gouache I added the splatters for a lot of snow, which is what I like in real life, and on my cards!
Again, once all was dry I stamped the sentiment using the VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne and a sentiment from Penny Black.
To give the scene a bit of pop, I added it to a pink card base using Nuvo Adhesive and kept everything in place with magnets until the glue was dry.Thank you for joining me today.
