A watercolour called "Abstract Sunset".
I did this painting, which is 7 x 10 inches, for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers. The video we were referred to can be found here.
To paint I used my palette with Daniel Smith and Winsor Newton watercolours.
The sky is done with Winsor Newton Permanent Rose, fading into Daniel Smith Cadmium Yellow Light, mixed with a bit of Winsor Newton Orange Red.
For the water and ripples I used Schmincke Cobalt Turquoise that I mixed with a bit of Cobalt Blue. THe sunset colours on the water are the Rose, Red/Orange, and Cadmium Yellow.
While the painting was still damp I used paper towel to lift the colour leaving the clouds, and the setting sun was done the same way, except I left a slight yellow in the circle.
I liked these colours a lot so have decided to frame this for my watercolour wall.
