Bird Friends

 Hello to you. Meet "Bird Friends".

This is my card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week where we are visiting Calendars.com. My inspiration came from this picture.

I have been delighted to find that Papertrey Ink has branched out and is now offering their products via retailers such as Scrapbook.com and in Canada I note that they are available via Scrap'n Stamp.

I am hoping Scrap'n Stamp will bring them in their store, but for now they can be ordered via the links I have provided below.

For my card I used distress inks in various colours. In my mini Misti I inked the stamps with the colours, spritzed with water then stamped, filling the cut background. 

I wanted a watercolour look, which I achieved with the spritzing.

I then die cut the bird and proceed to fill in the colours using the stamps provided in the set and distress inks.

I then die cut a spare leaf and stamped using slightly different colours from the bottom leaves and also die cut a white leaf, gluing the white to the back of the leaf with colour.

To finish I die cut 3 of the frames and glued them to the card base. I then added the die cut leaf using foam squares and glued the bird in place followed by stamping the sentiment.

I really like the look of this card and look forward to getting more stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink. I hope you have enjoyed this card as well.
