It is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com and our challenge is on shadowing/shadows. I decided to do this still life of Lemons, which was a painting I never got to from watercolour classes before the Pandemic.
I painted using Arches cold press watercolour paper which is 7 x 10 inches and using my #6 and #2 Escoda brushes.
I first lightly drew out the lemons, branches and leaves to ready for painting. I have listed the watercolours I used below.
Once I was done the lemons and leaves I painted in the shadows using the Sap Green, Green Apatite Genuine and Raw Sienna.
I also added the dots on the lemons with the Raw Sienna. I do want to add grounding but I think I will get a frame first and add it then. I do not want it dark is the only thing I know for sure.
I do like how this has turned out and I hope you enjoy it as well.
