This is "Art is".
This card I have done for Day 28 of the Random Act of Cardness events at Scrap'n Stamp. Today's prompt word is "Brayer".
When making cards I like to change up my backgrounds and use different tools to achieve different results. For this card I used my brayer.
This idea came from Understandblue and this video. Lydia covers the part that I am using from the beginning of the video to marker 3:03/15:27.
I made my card a mini Slimline card, being 6 x 3.5 inches. The colours I used for the background are Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass. I wanted the background to appear like it was outdoors, and these colours worked beautifully.
I love the texture from the brayer, such a great look.
For the image I stamped on Fabriano hot press paper using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. I then used my Daniel Smith Dot colours to paint. These dot cards give you the perfect opportunity to try out Daniel Smith watercolours, which are my watercolour of choice.
I then fussy cut the piece out and attached it to my card using foam strips, which shows in one of the pictures above.
To finish my card I stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti using Rustic Wilderness Distress ink.
I must say I love the look of this card, and it is the background that really makes it. I hope you have enjoyed it as well and I thank you for visiting.
