This card I did for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com today. I am hosting this challenge and have made a Pinterest Board showing Window Displays.
I am fascinated by the amount of detail and work that goes into a commercial "Window", and I find them inspiring with their colours and designs. I found my inspiration here and here.
I wanted to use some of the backgrounds that I have done, and when I came upon this larger piece I decided I would treat it like one would when using a smoldering tool, which I do want.
I trimmed the Yupo paper using decorative edge scissors that I have had for years, which gave me three pieces. I die cut each layer using difference sizes of dies in circles, small oblong and squares.
Using white card I ran the piece through my Gemini using the Gemini embossing folder. I then brushed on several layers of colours, being Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Rustic Wilderness.
Once completed I glued it to my light aqua card base. I then added the layers of alcohol ink using foam strips between each of the layers. To finish I added the sentiment from Tim Holtz attaching to a piece of Yupo and attaching via foam squares.
The embossing folder I used is the one that came with my machine, which you can view here.
Now I cannot wait to get the soldering tool and make some more.
