Meet "Bundle Up."
It is still very cold in my area, hence this stamp seemed the perfect choice.
Today's card is done for the Scrap'n Stamp Random Act of Cardness challenges, with my prompt word being "Watercolour".
To make it easy I have used distress inks to watercolour, and I really like how it turned out. I decided I would keep the card Clean and Simple using only the background die with no further colour.
The colours I used are Peacock Feathers for the Coat, Candied Apple for the scarf, mittens and her pants, as well as the breast of the bird. For the boots, bag and buttons I used Walnut Stain, adding a bit of Black Soot to the boot rubber sole.
The top of the bird is done using Mustard Seed, and her face and cheeks are done using Antique Linen and a watered down Candied Apple.
In winter with snow all around you and there is no sun out, you will notice everything is highlighted, which I opted to include in my painting of this image.
The background die is new to me, from Paper Rose, and I love it. The middle panel is a separate piece from the outside edges which allows you to use it or not.
I opted to use both parts of the die and I wanted the die cut in white, along with a white card base. I also opted to put the sentiment inside keeping the exterior as a showcase for the bird feeding girl.
To cut the die I used my steel plate, which makes for a beautiful cut and the pieces all but fall out. I glued the die to my base by gluing around the edge of the inner rectangle, then gluing the back of the etched portion of the die to my card base.
I styled the Bundled Buddies, which helped the watercolour paper to flatten more, and attached her to the centre of the card using foam tape.
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this card.
