Let me introduce you to "Roar".
This adorable stamp is from Tracey Hey at Hampton Art. We are featuring these stamps at Scrap'n Stamp Canada this weekend via our hop. I love this lion so much that I decided I would also use it for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.
When I saw the Inspiration challenge was at Wallsauce I knew I would find something perfect to be able to use this stamp, and I did with this mural.
First I stamped the image on Kraft card using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then picked out my Copic colours in 5 groups. My reasoning was the colouring and for this card I broke all the rules when it comes to Copic colouring.
The colours I used are: 1) R17, YR27, YR68, Y17; 2) Y15, YR07, R37; 3) Y08, Y15, Y38, YR16; 4) Y21, E25, E29; 5) R05, R24, R46. On each of the manes I coloured using the colours in order from each group, which coloured 5 manes.
Using the same group of colours I then coloured by reversing the colours in each group. i.e. example from group 1) I used Y17, YR68, YR27 and R17. For the next 3 manes I switched it out again using the colours from group 2), group 4), and group 5). This time I started with the middle colour then the darkest, then the lightest.
When all the Copic colouring was done I die cut the Kraft card piece using my Wonky die, which I have not used for ages! I then placed the piece in my mini Misti and stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink.
Turning my attention to the card base I knew I wanted to change the colour up and only knew I did not want brown, which would be a typical choice. I don't think this is a typical card, so it had to be different.
I decided on Crackling Campfire for the card base which I brushed on using my Life Changing brushes.
To finish I attached the card front to the card base using foam tape.
I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. So fun!
