Best of Luck

This is "Best of Luck", my card for today.

I don't normally do St. Patrick Day cards, but when I saw this die set I changed my mind. And as it turns out it makes a great card to send to a friend who has moved to the east coast with her work.

I started by using my Gel Press and a stencil to do the background of the card front and inside of card. 

I inked up my gel plate with Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink, spritzed lightly with water, then placed the stencil over along with a piece of Hammermill copy paper and took the prints, inking between prints.

I set the prints aside to dry and moved on to the clover dies, which I die cut using Neenah white card. I then coloured using Copic markers in YG03, YG05 and G07.

For the sentiuments I die cut the letters x 3 and glued them together using Nuvo adhesive. I coloured the "Luck" word using the G07 with several passes to get the darker colour.

To put it all together I first attached the gel press prints to white cardstock, then die cut both of the pieces using my pierced rectangle die.

To prepare my card base and to frame the gel press pieces, I applied Mowed Lawn distress oxide around the outer edge of the inside of the card, then attached the gel press print using Nuvo adhesive. 

For the front of the card I added another piece of card which was die cut using the same die, with the gel press print attached using foam tape.

Using my T-Square ruler I lined up the letters spelling out "luck", and glued them in place using Nuvo adhesive. I then styled the clover and attached using foam squares, with the 4 leaf clover being attached using the glue and a gem added to the centre for a bit of bling.

I then went on a hunt for the words "Best of" to finish my card and found them on an older stamp set I have from Alexandra Renke. 

I had to do a bit of surgery, but that is okay, the stamps will still work. In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment on a left piece of the gel press paper and glued it to cardstock, then die cut and attached using a foam strip.
