In the Pink Birthday

This is "In the Pink Birthday.

This card is done for Day 19 of the Random Act of Cardness challenges at Scrap'n Stamp Canada. Today's prompt word is "Pink".
As you can see, there is a lot of Pink on this card, but it all works together nicely. I have used several techniques here, embossing both wet and dry, smooshing with distress oxide inks, and water colour using Daniel Smith watercolours.

My card base in Gina K Design Passionate Pink cardstock. For the dry embossing using the Quilt embossing folder, I am using Neenah cardstock.
For the smooshing I used distress oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry, drying between each application.

After the final drying time I attached the embossed piece to my card base using foam tape.
I then stamped the flower using watermark embossing ink and Nuvo Embossing powder in Ballerina Pink, heat setting with my heat gun.

For colour I used the Daniel Smith 66 dot card. I used the Quinacridone Pink and Quinacridone Fuschia on the flower, along with Hansa Yellow medium for the flower centre.
I then stamped the butterfly on a piece of Arches cold press watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous, going over that with the Nocturne.

Once everything was ready I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous. I then styled the flower and butterfly and attached to the card using foam squares, and finished the card with a scattering of gems.
